La vida de los otros se hace mía cuando entran en mi cuadro, cuando los miro; cuando los atrapo en mi memoria.
Cinematography is my interpretation of the world through stories. I narrate my universe with others' images; with pure instants captured in silver and electricity. Atoms with their wanderings are raw material. The lives of others become mine when they enter my frame, when I look at them; when I capture them in my memory
BIO
I graduated as a cinematographer from the Centre of Cinema Studies (CUEC) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) from 1998 to 2003.
As a student, I received an Honorable Mention for Best Cinematography in the KODAK Filmschool Competition 2002, for my documentary "The Landscape of the Body" (El Paisaje del Cuerpo).
I have participated as a cinematographer in various documentary and fiction film productions, working with both film and digital video formats. Additionally, I have produced commercial spots, video clips, TV shows, and a feature-length documentary film for diverse public and private institutions.
I have been a member of the Mexican Society of Cinematographers (AMC) since 2005, invited by Arturo de la Rosa (AMC), Donald Bryant (AMC), and Jack Lach (AMC).
I have directed numerous anthropological documentaries in diverse social contexts.
I served as cinematographer for the first interactive Virtual Reality short film in the world, "Ávido," produced by VR AWAKE.
In 2019, I worked as cinematographer on the modular short film "UKU PACHA," which won Best VR Film at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival 2022, San Francisco Frozen Film Festival 2022, and Short. Sweet Film Fest 2022. The film was produced by California State University, Sacramento, and Universidad de Cuenca, and directed by PhD Diego Bonilla.
I have worked as a cinematographer for companies such as Televisa, Univisión, Discovery Channel, Al Jazeera, Coca-Cola, L'Oréal, Melitta, Diageo, Heineken, Cuervo, Saba, among many others.
